A fresh beta version of WhatsApp has appeared on Google Play with some interesting innovations, as reported by WABetaInfo. The update, labelled with the number 2.23.24.16, introduced the user with a function to search for messages by date of sending.
Now, in order to use this feature, it is enough to click on the search bar in the chat and activate the icon depicting a calendar with a magnifying glass. This will open the calendar where you can select the date you want and the chat will automatically switch to messages sent on that day.
This improvement, suggested by WhatsApp, will be especially useful when you need to quickly find information from past conversations. According to WABetaInfo, this feature will make it much easier to find historical messages in long chats, saving users time.
The publication also noted that the feature first appeared in the iOS and web versions of WhatsApp, and now it is available for the Android client as well.
According to WABetaInfo, the new date-based message search feature will soon be available in the public version of WhatsApp for Android with one of the next updates.
