According to a proposed bill being considered at the next government meeting, the Labour Code may have new rules on unpaid leave to care for accompanying persons living with the employee. This leave would be granted on the basis of a written request and would last five working days. It can only be taken once a year.
To request this leave, the employee must provide the following documentation:
– A copy of the identity card of the person being accompanied.
– A statement confirming that the accompanied person resides with the employee.
– A medical certificate from a medical institution.
The initiators of the draft law explain that the proposed amendments are necessary to harmonise the national legislation with the European one, in accordance with the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union.
