The head of Moldovagaz announced that in November this year, the volume of natural gas consumption amounted to 83.6 million cubic metres, which is 32.5% more than in November 2022. Compared to October 2023, the indicator increased by 45.9 million cubic metres, or 121.8%.
Household consumers had paid 99% of their gas bills by the end of November 2023, 0.1% less than last year. Legal entities had paid 95.3 per cent, 4.0 percentage points less than the previous year. The payment rate in the heating sector fell to 91.2 per cent, 8.7 percentage points lower than in November 2022.
According to Law No. 241/2022 on the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, household consumers were compensated for the gas consumed in November 2023 in the amount of 110.8 million lei. Additionally, residential associations were compensated 521,895.15 lei for 1,583 consumption points, according to the energy vulnerability category.
In the same period, 510 consumption points were disconnected due to arrears worth 3.6 million lei. 315 consumers were transferred to advance payment due to previously suspended supplies due to non-payment. The level of payment for gas consumed in 2023 at the end of November was 96%, equal to 10.7 billion lei.
