An online system called e-Rețeta will be launched in Moldova, which connects 3,300 pharmacies across the country. To use this platform, you will need to register through a link and enter your passport details and cell phone number. If citizens do not have access to the Internet, they can contact a family doctor or other medical specialist for assistance.
More than 800,000 citizens receiving reimbursed drugs and medical devices will use the new application. Currently, there are 167 drugs and 55 devices on the list of available drugs and devices for reimbursement, and any changes will be automatically reflected in the “Electronic Prescription”. Authorities are also considering implementing e-prescriptions for uncompensated drugs in the future.
Pharmacists will be able to see all necessary information about the patient, as well as the list of reimbursed drugs by their identification code. For partially reimbursed drugs, the patient will be able to come to the pharmacy three times to purchase the drugs without additional payments.
In January 2024, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) paid more than 86 million lei to contract pharmacies for compensated medicines and medical devices, which is 20 million more than in the same period last year.
