Programmes for active ageing and digital skills development for older people and IDPs from Ukraine are being launched in 10 districts of Moldova. The first pioneers will be Causeni, Ungheni, Singerei, Rezina, Telenesti, Nisporeni, Ialoveni, Stefan-Voda, Calarasi and Straseni, which will support the renovation and creation of recreation centres for older people.
These centres will offer a variety of activities for the elderly, including music, dance, theatre, drawing, reading, foreign languages, yoga and sports.
More than 1,000 pensioners will also receive training in the use of mobile phones to access social services, social networks and online payments. In addition, 360 people will receive free mobile phones. These measures are being implemented as part of a project that will run from November 2023 to February 2024 under the National Programme for Active and Healthy Ageing.
