Moldovan weightlifter Alexandrina Ciubotaru showed amazing results at the European Championships for athletes under 20 years old, held in Bucharest. In the weight category of 76 kilograms she managed to win three gold medals! In the snatch she successfully lifted 93 kilograms, and in the jerk – 117 kilograms. Thus, Alexandrina took a well-deserved place on the podium, next to Turkey’s Burçu Gerçekden (208 kg) and Great Britain’s Isabella Brown (203 kg).
Also, a few days before this event, other Moldovan athletes also achieved significant successes. Caterina Grabucha won three silver medals in the under-23 category, in the 45 kg weight category. And Iulian Betca won a silver medal in the snatch in the 55 kg category at the U20 Europeans competition.
These remarkable results emphasize the high level of Moldovan weightlifting and make the whole country happy with their achievements in the international arena.
