“New Physician Licensing System in Moldova: Purpose and Benefits”
The Minister of Health of Moldova, Alla Nemerenco, announced the implementation of a system of licensing of doctors. Under this system, each physician will be evaluated every five years. In case of insufficient continuous training or malpractice, doctors can be demoted. Alla Nemerenko is sure that such a system will not leave medical institutions without specialists. She noted that this is a practice common in European countries, and its introduction will help to exclude incompetent and unethical doctors from the system. The new licensing system is designed to improve the quality of medical practice and ensure patient safety.
