So far, 59 kindergartens in Chisinau have been connected to the heating system, as Viorica Negrei, deputy head of the Main Department of Education, Youth and Sport, said at the weekly meeting of the city’s municipal services. In addition, the remaining kindergartens are expected to be connected to the heating system by the end of the day.
Viorica Negrei explained that among these institutions are kindergartens that function within schools and primary schools. She also specified that the connection of other primary and secondary education institutions to the heating system depends on the requests and needs of each of them.
It should be noted that all 54 medical and social institutions in the capital are already ready for the upcoming cold weather, as reported by Marina Buga, deputy head of the municipal institution. She specified that at the moment no hospital is connected to the centralised heating system, and some medical institutions use alternative sources of heat.
Marina Buga also specified that medical institutions closely monitor the temperature in the premises and will be connected to the heating system if necessary. Connection will be carried out depending on weather conditions and temperature outside.
The centralised heating season in the capital will start as soon as the temperature is maintained at 8 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.
