President Maia Sandu held an important event, meeting with members of Moldova’s Ukrainian community on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day, which is marked on August 24. The President’s press service reported about this event. At the meeting, she expressed solidarity with Ukraine and strongly condemned the military actions and atrocities committed by Russia, the moldpres.md news agency reported.
The President emphasized that from the very beginning of the conflict, Moldova has been by the side of the Ukrainian people and is determined to continue moving together with Ukraine on the path of European integration.
The participants in the meeting expressed gratitude to the president for his openness and for all the support that Moldova provides to the Ukrainians who had to leave their homes due to the difficult situation.
