An MP from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) expressed his opinion on Russia’s activities, stating that since Moldova’s independence, it has been systematically undermining the country, waging war on the Dniester River and blackmailing over energy supply issues. During an appearance on TVRMoldova, Marian said that Russia prefers hybrid warfare, blackmail and agency methods to destabilize democratic processes in Moldova and other countries.
The PAS MP said that although the press conference of the Director of the Information Security Service (ISS) was not surprising, he was glad that the country has more and more tools to uncover such activities. Radu Marian emphasized that Moldova is consolidated and is able to respond to security threats and challenges.
Igor Munteanu, president of the Congress of Unguro-Bessarabian Federation (CUB), added that hybrid warfare has a destructive power greater than conventional warfare and that many sectors of Moldova’s economy are influenced by Russian interests, especially in sectors controlling critical infrastructure. The CUB leader also expressed concern about the unequal number of Russian embassy staff in Chisinau compared to Moldovan diplomats in Moscow and noted that Transnistria has become a regional center where instability is shaped and information is gathered.
Thus, the politicians expressed their opinion on Russia’s activities, emphasizing the importance of a stronger response to threats and negative impact on Moldova’s sovereignty and security.
