The European Parliament backs Moldova’s European integration process. This was stated by Mihai Popşoi, co-chairman of the Moldova-European Union Parliamentary Association Committee. He said Moldova successfully implements the European Commission’s recommendations, especially after obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession.
“RM has done its best and even more. We have almost fully implemented the 9 recommendations of the European Commission, and we will make consistent efforts to meet the expectations of our citizens in the future,” Popşoi stressed.
The parliamentary session discussed projects related to the justice reform, which reflects the endeavour to improve the lives of citizens. The committee’s co-chairman, Siegfried Muresan, reiterated Moldova’s willingness to start accession talks with the EU. He also said that the European Union will increase the financing of its eastern neighbours, including Moldova.
The Euro MP said that additional financial resources will be allocated to Moldova in 2024. Also, the use of the funds initially earmarked for Ukraine to support Moldova is being discussed. The parliamentary committee for the Moldova-European Union association will continue its activity as a forum of the association agreement.
