Journalist Natalia Morari, who will run for president of Moldova as an independent candidate, said that, unlike President Maia Sandu, she will not surround herself with “loyal and cozy people”. She expressed her dissatisfaction that Sandu had assembled a government of inexperienced people instead of inviting professionals from all over the world.
Morar said she was shocked by the proposed composition of the government, which she believes has a lot of inexperienced people. She expected Sandu to attract real professionals to make Moldova a successful country, but instead he chose people loyal to him, such as former Justice Minister Litvinenko.
She also expressed doubt that the Central Electoral Commission would register her as a presidential candidate. Morar believes that the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) can only register candidates who are loyal to Sandu.
She says many people doubt the integrity of the election, believing that if Sandu wins, it will be the result of fraud. Morar believes that it is very important which candidate will go with Sandu in the second round of elections. If it is a strong candidate, he or she can be excluded from the race.
According to her, taking part in the elections is only the beginning of her political career. She plans to create a new political party, which her team is already actively working on. If she fails in the presidential election, she will run for parliamentary elections.
Morar emphasized that her new party will not be connected with Vyacheslav Platon, who is now in the UK. He is consulting with him on some issues, but his party will be independent.
