Vasile Costiuc, the leader of the Democracy at Home party, supports Moldova’s accession to the EU, but considers the referendum a “political trap” organized by PAS. He said that his party has always been in favor of the union with Romania and national integration and has conducted numerous campaigns in this direction, according to tv8.md.
Costiuc said he would vote “for” in the referendum, but also emphasized the precarious living conditions in Moldovan localities. “We support union with Romania and national integration, we campaigned and now we will say ‘yes’ in the referendum. However, this is a political trap from PAS,” he said.
Kostiuc said it was important to clearly inform the public about the risks and benefits to prevent misinformation. He emphasized that the lack of action and communication from the government contributes to misinformation and negatively affects participation in the referendum. Kostiuc criticized the government for ignoring the main problems that prevent citizens from exercising their rights and noted that this approach benefits foreign interests, especially Moscow.
