
Nicu Popescu made this statement after the executive branch approved the National Accession Plan. According to the head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, this document contains concrete steps that Moldova should take in order to join the European Union. These steps include the introduction of laws, regulations and directives with clear deadlines for their implementation.
Popescu stressed that this plan was elaborated at the last moment, before the EU enlargement report will be presented on 8 November. Moldova’s main goal in this EU report is to receive an invitation to start EU accession negotiations. Moldova is actively preparing for this accession preparation.
