The statement of Mihai Mytsu, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented in the Parliament discusses the possibility of canceling the visa-free regime with Ecuador. Given the procedures for joining the European Union, it is necessary to harmonize the national visa policy with that of the EU. This process will be carried out gradually. When considering the termination of the agreement with Ecuador, the possible consequences were taken into account and started with states that have less influence on citizens.
Citizens from 12 countries, which currently have the right to enter Moldova without a visa, may be subject to the visa regime. These countries include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Ecuador, Qatar, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Qatar and Uzbekistan.
