
Last night, 22 October, there was a serious traffic accident involving a motorcyclist in Baurchi village, Ceadir Lunga district, around 23:00.
According to preliminary information of the police, the 27-year-old motorcyclist failed to cope with the control and collided with a pillar. Unfortunately, as a result of the collision, the man died at the scene. It is important to note that he did not have a driver’s licence and was not properly protected by equipment.
A criminal investigation has been launched into the incident, which will clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
It should be recalled that on 21 October, another road tragedy occurred in the immediate vicinity of the Chisinau International Airport. A motorbike collided with a police car on Dacia Boulevard and caught fire. As a result of this incident, two people on the motorbike died.
The leadership of the Inspectorate General of Police has already initiated a command investigation to scrutinise the actions of the police officers in this case.
This investigation is under the direct supervision of the head of the National Police, Viorel Cherneutianu.
