Yesterday, on 3 December, at about 08:00, a 33-year-old man contacted the police in the city of Soroka. He reported that he went to visit his 63-year-old mother and found her dead.
Police conducted a preliminary investigation and found out that there was a conflict between the dead woman and her 41-year-old son. During the conflict, the son had hit his mother several times and these blows caused her death.
Immediately after the incident, the man left the scene, but the police promptly detained him for 72 hours.
Law enforcement authorities have opened a criminal investigation into the domestic violence that led to the victim’s death.
According to the law, the perpetrator faces imprisonment for 12 to 15 years.
