The residents of Cahul city now have access to the services of the new Unified Assistance Center. This center provides 17 different public services, which can be expanded even further in the future. The development of this center and its technical support was realized thanks to the program “EU4Moldova: Key Regions”, funded by the European Union and implemented jointly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UNICEF.
The total cost of the project is 157 thousand euros, including the contribution of local authorities. This is an important step in ensuring effective public administration and provision of public services.
Among the services provided by the center are issuance of building permits, tax debt certificates, registration of children in pre-school institutions and others. The building of the center was modernized and refurbished within the framework of the program “EU4Moldova: Key Regions”. Training, technical support and consultations were also provided to improve the center’s operation.
The program “EU4Moldova: Key Regions” is aimed at sustainable development of the regions of Cahul and Ungheni, as well as at improving the quality of life of citizens. The total budget of the program is 23 million euros and it is implemented jointly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
