Women who develop their businesses can now receive financial support from the state. According to the new Programme of Support for Women Entrepreneurship, approved today by the Cabinet of Ministers and reported on ipn.md, it is possible to receive up to 600 thousand lei.
The programme provides for free financial assistance of up to 200,000 lei for women entrepreneurs who launch new businesses and up to 600,000 lei for those whose enterprises are already in the development stage. In addition, the programme includes an “e-comerț package”, providing support for the development of e-commerce, totalling 30 thousand lei for start-up businesses and 50 thousand lei for companies already on the market.
Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Dumitru Alaiba emphasised the importance of women’s independence and economic empowerment in order to achieve gender equality. This is an initiative that aims to ensure equal opportunities for women on the labour market and in the business sector.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the majority of microenterprises are run by women (90.3 per cent) and they are active in areas such as retail, services and catering, highlighting their significant role in the economy.
