
The third summit of the European Political Community will start on Thursday, 5 October in Granada, Spain. The event will bring together all leaders of European countries, except for Russia and Belarus.
The main issue on the agenda, according to information from Mediafax, will be the discussion of the reform of the European Union, which has 27 member countries. The main idea is to start a preparatory process for a possible enlargement of the EU. This process may take time and could possibly end in 2030.
Among the countries that have expressed their desire to join the EU are Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Turkey, Kosovo and Georgia.
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, is also attending this third summit of the European Political Community, which is being held in Spain.
At this summit, which precedes the European Council meeting on 6 October, also in Granada, the leaders will discuss a number of issues related to the European continent, including Moldova’s accession to this social bloc and current reforms.
A total of 51 delegates have announced their participation in the summit. The European Political Community is an intergovernmental format of political dialogue between the European states in order to cooperate on topics of mutual interest, taking into account the consolidation of security and stability on the continent.
The first summit of the European Political Community took place in Prague in October 2022, and the second one was held in June in the Republic of Moldova, in the city of Bulboaca.
