On 20 January 2024, a traffic accident occurred in Chisinau when a 23-year-old driver failed to control her Dacia car and drove it into a supermarket on Dacia Boulevard in the Botanica sector. The spokeswoman of the Metropolitan Police Department, Natalia Stati, confirmed the information about the incident. The accident did not result in any casualties, and the circumstances of the incident are still being clarified. Earlier, on 16 January, a similar accident took place in the city, when a Ford Mustang car drove into the window of the Metro shop, partially penetrating inside the shopping hall.
