Igor Grosu stated that the “Alternative for Russia” block is competing with Dodon to see who can hit the diaspora harder. He criticized Stoianoglo’s proposal to limit the voting rights of Moldovans abroad, requiring registration several months before the elections, which, in Grosu’s opinion, is a violation of civil rights. Stoianoglo also said that Moldovans living abroad are “lacking critical thinking” because they want their country to be part of Europe.
Grosu believes that representatives of the Kremlin and their supporters are trying to limit the diaspora’s vote, but they will not succeed. He is convinced that Moldovans will not allow a return to the times when many could not vote due to a lack of ballots and polling stations.
PDS deputy Doina German added in an interview that the “Alternative” block aims to destroy Moldova’s European integration, and the parliamentary elections will be among the most important since the country gained independence.
