Andrei Nastase announced his intention to run for president of Moldova. He made this statement during the TV program Puterea a Patra. In 2016, Nastase withdrew his candidacy in favor of Maia Sandu, but now he is ready to run, stressing that one can never be absolutely sure about the future. He also said that he would no longer allow unilateral political concessions as he did in 2016. In the last presidential election in 2020, Năstase received 3.26% of the vote and did not make it to the second round.
