Interior Minister Adrian Efros proposed that the government discuss the possibility of extending the state of emergency regime throughout Moldova. This regime was introduced on February 24, 2022 at the proposal of the government and approved by the Parliament. The main reason for this decision was the immediate threat to national security related to the war in Ukraine.
The request for the extension of the state of emergency regime was due to the presence of various threats, including the need to secure energy resources, manage the flow of refugees and counter other risks that could affect the country’s security.
