This year, Moldova will receive financial support from the Nordic countries in the amount of 240 million dollars through programs intended for Ukraine and Moldova. Liliana Gutan, Moldovan Ambassador to Stockholm, shared information that out of the set amount of more than 190 million dollars for Moldova, 155 million dollars have already been used in 2023.
The ambassador also mentioned the introduction of a new strategy – the transition from assistance to partnership. This approach implies the active involvement of direct financial assistance, grants, technical assistance for the development of trade and exports from Moldova. Gutsan emphasized that the assistance is an investment that contributes to the country’s sustainable development.
She also said that in 2023, Sweden became the second largest importer of Moldovan apples in the European Union, with an increase of more than 300 percent.
