The cause of the fire was arson – someone broke a window from the street. As a result, waste paper, about 20 tonnes, caught fire in a 300 square metre warehouse. There was heavy smoke in the premises. Three fire brigades started to extinguish the flames, reports rupor.md.
Employees of the company contributed to the fight against the fire. They used a tractor to move heavy paper bales while firefighters poured water on them. The smoke was so thick that the tractor driver had to wear a mask and use a compressed air machine.
The fire was extinguished after two hours, but it took almost 9 hours to fully extinguish the fire.
