In the evening of July 19, the swearing-in ceremony of Eugenia Gutsul, the newly elected leader of Gagauzia, took place in the center of Comrat. Although the beginning of the event was delayed, a briefing for the press took place after the official part. The participation of Moldova’s top leaders in the event was not revealed, as reported on rupor.md.
In her speech, Eugenia Gutsul thanked all those present for their support on this important day. She assured everyone that she will always adhere to her oath of loyalty and is aware of the responsibility entrusted to her by the citizens of Gagauzia. Gutsul emphasized that her main goal is to serve her people and to be guided by their interests, and not by any political parties.
Turkey, Europe, Russia, Ukraine and Romania were named as important partners with which Gagauzia seeks to cooperate.
Turkish actor Burak Ozcivit also spoke at the event, addressing his fans and promising that the series will continue to be filmed. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and promised to keep in touch with the Gagauz people, noting common cultural ties. The actor also presented the bashkan with a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation.
