
Igor Dodon will remain under judicial control and will not be able to leave the country. The ex-president’s preventive measure was extended at the request of prosecutor Petru Iarmaliuc.
Igor Dodon was arrested in May last year. He faces charges of state treason, passive corruption, illicit enrichment, and receiving funding for his party from an organized criminal group, according to jurnaltv.md.
In October 2022, the case, known as the “black kulek”, was referred to the Supreme Court of Justice.
According to the prosecution’s version, Igor Dodon demanded up to 1 million dollars from Plahotniuc to promote the interests of the Democratic Party.
