Three people, including a 65-year-old woman and two minors (7 and 11 years old), were hospitalized as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning in the village of Valya-Perzhei, Chimishli district. The incident occurred in the morning of December 26, and the 112 Service received the call at 08:18.
Employees of the fire and rescue squad of Chimishli district found out that the cause of the incident was the filling of the house with smoke due to a faulty stove. The victims were taken to the district hospital in stable condition.
Rescuers remind about the importance of observing safety rules when using stoves and heating installations in the cold season. Recommendations include checking the condition of furnaces before use, extinguishing the fire in the furnace at night and ventilating the premises. The importance of keeping ventilation ducts open to prevent the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning is also emphasized.
