The parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists plans to bring a simple resolution against Education and Science Minister Dan Percun. This was announced by Socialist MP Vlad Batryncza at a meeting of the BCS faction.
The deputies unanimously opposed a number of decisions, such as the closure of universities, including the Agrarian University and the University of Physical Education and Sport, as well as hospitals with a long history, such as the Tom Ciorbae Hospital, specialized boarding schools and TV channels. Serious concerns were also voiced about violations of the legislation when appointing heads of strategically important institutions in the country, such as the National Bank of Moldova, etc., ipn.md reported.
BCS faction chairman Vlad Batrincea highlighted several steps he is going to take, including the submission of a simple resolution against Education and Research Minister Dan Percun.
Earlier on Wednesday, the government approved a plan to merge the State University of Physical Education and Sport with the Moldovan State University. According to the authorities, the university was facing a steady decline in the number of students in sports specialties and financial difficulties. The decision sparked protests, including speeches by opponents of the merger, including members of the Socialist Party demanding the protection of educational institutions.
