The authorities have begun discussing possible changes in the composition of the government. The topic was addressed during a meeting on Wednesday, which was attended by President Maia Sandu, deputies from the PAS party faction, and government members. Sources within the PAS party mentioned that discussions were held about replacing several ministers, but a final decision has not yet been made.
The discussions were not only about resignations but also about appointing new government members. It has already been agreed that Sergey Diaconu, an advisor to the prime minister, will replace Adrian Efros as the Minister of Internal Affairs. Diaconu previously worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Additionally, the possibility of appointing Agriculture Minister Vladimir Bol to the position of Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, replacing Andrei Spînu, who resigned, was discussed. The nomination of the new Minister of Agriculture will still be discussed with farmers and agricultural producer associations.
However, these decisions are not final, and discussions are ongoing to find solutions that will improve the government’s efficiency. At the beginning of the week, it was expected that the government changes would be announced by the end of the week, but Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated that he will make an official announcement at a press conference on Monday, November 18.
