During today’s sitting of the Moldovan Parliament, deputies from the Communist and Socialist Bloc suggested holding hearings at which Prime Minister Dorin Recean would be present. They also expressed the wish that such hearings should include the heads of ministries responsible for pricing. The aim of such a meeting was to discuss the current situation and to find solutions to the problem of high cost of bread, as actualitati.md reports.
According to Radu Mudriac, despite some positive changes, such as the reduction of gas, electricity and fuel tariffs compared to the previous year, the cost of bread remains high and does not decrease.
He emphasized that bread is a staple food for some people and said: “This situation cannot continue.”
Mudryak expressed the opinion that the state should intervene more actively in regulating the prices of basic foodstuffs.
However, the proposal to hold hearings did not receive support from deputies from the Democratic Union Party (PDS).
