During a press conference today, MPs from the Communist and Socialist Bloc expressed deep regret over the refusal of the current parliamentary majority to consider legislative proposals from the opposition.
According to their statement, all opposition initiatives concerning the country’s economy have been rejected for the first time in history. They were stuck in committees and never made it to the agenda of parliamentary sessions.
MP Petru Burduja said that although one of the BCS proposals was on the agenda, it was never discussed. This proposal concerned a moratorium on tax inspections, including customs control and tax checkpoints.
In addition, the BCS proposed to set a “0” rate on reinvested corporate income and to protect local producers by requiring that 50 per cent of goods in shops be locally produced.
Oleg Reidman, BCS MP, emphasised that Moldova is in a deep economic and social crisis, and instead of joining efforts to overcome it, the authorities reject all proposals aimed at helping and improving the lives of citizens.
