Despite the thick fog in Chisinau, three flights to Warsaw, Vienna and Istanbul were delayed and two others underwent schedule changes: one was cancelled and the other postponed for 16 hours. Some aircraft had difficulty landing due to poor visibility, forcing them to circle over Chisinau before landing.
Passengers have expressed dissatisfaction, noting long delays and a lack of clear information. Some of them came to the airport in advance, fearing delays, while others express concern about further connections.
The case of a flight to Istanbul, which was postponed for 16 hours without prior notice, stands out. Passengers complain of failed attempts to get information from the airline, as well as inadequate provisioning for passengers, including Muslims who were improperly catered for.
An airline spokesperson explained the delay of the flight to Istanbul was due to technical problems, resulting in a replacement for the aircraft having to be found. Passengers were notified of the change by email, but many have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of information and service.
Chisinau International Airport reported the cancellation of a flight to Rome and the postponement of a flight to Istanbul due to adverse weather conditions. A flight to Munich also underwent changes due to bad weather in Germany.
