In the last 24 hours, Moldova has refused entry to 32 foreign individuals. One of them was a Russian citizen affiliated with pro-Russian military groups. By employing risk analysis and information shared with the Information and Security Service and international partners, authorities successfully identified a Russian citizen linked to pro-Russian forces involved in military operations in Donbass. This individual was intercepted during passenger screening at Chisinau International Airport while attempting to enter Moldova. After conducting comprehensive verification procedures, the person was denied permission to cross the state border and subsequently repatriated by air transportation. It is essential to emphasize that strict security protocols are implemented at all border checkpoints to safeguard the well-being and security of the nation and its citizens, particularly considering the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The Border Police maintains close cooperation with national agencies and international partners to proactively enforce necessary measures and prevent potential threats to Moldova’s security and its people.
