A 46-year-old Chisinau resident was detained by the police for 72 hours on suspicion of murder. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon on the terrace of an establishment in the Botanica sector of the capital.
According to the police, there was a conflict between the suspect and the 71-year-old man, which turned into a physical fight. During the confrontation, the victim was attacked with a chair, striking him on the head.
Preliminary findings indicate that the man’s death was due to injuries sustained in the head area.
A criminal case has been opened over the incident, for which the suspect faces up to 15 years in prison. An investigation is underway.
