“Russian Ambassador: Efforts to preserve friendly relations with Moldova”
Russian Ambassador to Moldova, Oleg Vasnetsov, expressed Russia’s efforts to preserve friendly ties with Moldova. Regarding Chisinau’s decision to cut diplomats and technical staff at the Russian embassy, he emphasized that despite the cuts, the embassy will aim at developing historically established ties and strengthening pragmatic dialogue.
Vasnetsov said that the Russian side seeks to avoid breaking friendly relations despite the “anti-Russian policy” of the Moldovan authorities. However, the decision to cut the embassy’s staff has a negative impact on the interaction between the countries in different fields.
The Russian Center of Science and Culture was also affected by the staff reduction, but the ambassador stressed that Russia would continue cooperation with Moldova in various fields, contribute to the preservation of historical heritage and support joint efforts to develop relations.
