
In 2024, Comrat’s budget will increase by almost 10%, reaching 122 million lei. The city held public consultations on this budget, which is to be approved. Residents expressed requests for more funds for the construction of playgrounds, new water and sewerage networks. Mayor Serghei Anastasov promised to attract foreign investments for these projects.
According to the proposed draft budget, more than 50 million lei of the total amount will be spent on kindergartens, 27 million lei on the development of public spaces, and almost 7 million lei on road construction.
Participants in the public hearings made other proposals, including the construction of new roads and playgrounds, as well as the improvement of water supply and sewerage. More than 20 proposals were discussed and will be considered in the draft budget for 2024.
Mayor Sergei Anastasov emphasised that next year’s budget is tight and the municipality relies on external financial sources. During his remarks, he emphasised that extra-budgetary funds and donor confidence are becoming important to address the city’s pressing problems, such as water supply and road construction.
More than 40 representatives of the civil society participated in the public hearings on the budget of Comrat municipality for 2024, which has about 25 thousand inhabitants.
