Several drivers tried to bribe patrol officers to avoid punishment for traffic violations. Seven such cases have been recorded since the beginning of June. One of the incidents took place on Dacia Boulevard in the capital, where a 22-year-old Honda driver was stopped for speeding. Upon checking, the police found that he did not have a driver’s license.

Despite warnings of the consequences, some drivers continue to illegally offer money to police officers for ignoring their offenses.
Since the beginning of June, 7 attempts to bribe patrol officers have been recorded. In each case, the inspectors called a task force to record evidence and document the incident.
Criminal cases were brought against the drivers for active corruption. For such actions, they face imprisonment of up to 6 years and a fine of 100,000 to 200,000 lei for individuals.
The Inspectorate General of Police reminds that offering a bribe to a civil servant is a criminal offense and will be strictly punished.
