Students and graduates of Moldovan educational institutions can now apply for a paid internship programme in public authorities. The process of recruiting interns is taking place at the State University of Moldova and the Academy of Economic Knowledge.
Anna Kalinici, State Secretary of the State Chancellery, highlighted the importance of this programme and said that, for the first time in Moldova, the state will provide interns with a monthly stipend of 3,000 lei for 160 hours of internship.
The young participants will work in different bodies, such as the Parliament Secretariat, the Presidential Apparatus, the State Chancellery and ministries. The programme will allow them to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the civil service and gain valuable experience necessary for a successful career.
Anna Kalinic also stressed that she aims at creating a community of interns with the potential of innovative ideas and encourages young people to stay in Moldova and contribute to the country’s development.
To participate in the programme, young people fill in an application form and are interviewed. After successful selection, they sign an internship contract and are paid for the hours worked. At the end of the programme, participants receive a certificate, and some with higher education and high performance may be offered a position in public office.
