An incident occurred in the capital along Dacia Boulevard, sources close to the investigation report. A 51-year-old man was in his flat, where he was drinking alcohol with his 74-year-old cohabitant. A quarrel arose over jealousy, and at some point the man used a kitchen knife, stabbing his cohabitant in the stomach. The woman died on the spot as a result of her injuries.
Later, the man attempted suicide by setting fire to the flat. However, neighbours who noticed the smoke called firefighters who extinguished the flames in time. The man was detained for 72 hours.
