The Moldovan government has adopted a new project aimed at more efficient use of energy. The main objective of the project is to renovate the internal heating distribution system. As part of this initiative, four heating networks in Chisinau will be renovated: on Mircea cel Batryn, Hincesti, Bolgarska streets, and Dacia Boulevard, according to yellowpages.md.
This project is part of a broader program to modernize the hot water supply and heating system.
The implementation of this project is supported by the United Nations Development Program in Moldova. Most of the funding, namely 80%, will be provided by the EU, the remaining 20% will be covered by funds from the community of homeowners. These funds will be collected within a year after the completion of the works. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1 million.
Residents’ contributions will be collected and managed by the Energy Efficiency Agency. They will be reused for future similar initiatives.
This ordinance will be in effect from August 2023 through December 2024, at the time of said projects.
