Poşta Moldovei, the state-owned postal enterprise, announced an increase in tariffs for domestic and international postal services. The decision was approved by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).
The tariff increase was proposed after analyzing the 2022 financial statements, which showed a lack of revenues to cover the costs of Universal’s services.
The new fares for domestic shipments will increase by an average of 46%, and for international shipments by approximately 9.7%.
These changes, according to ANRCETI, will not affect the majority of the population, as the main consumers of services are legal entities. This comes against the background of a decrease in demand for postal services due to the preference for new communication technologies.
The new tariffs will enter into force 30 days after publication and will be valid throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
