However, water safety specialists strongly warn that swimming should only be done in specifically authorized areas and under the supervision of professionals. To draw public attention to this issue, an information campaign has been launched in the country, according to information from tv8.md.
To clearly demonstrate the seriousness of the situation to citizens, inspectors from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations played the roles of actors. According to the scenario, one of the two intoxicated vacationers decided to swim, disregarding the warnings of fishermen.
The information campaign will continue throughout the summer season. Violating the rules and swimming in prohibited areas can result in fines.
According to official data, out of the more than 2600 bodies of water in Moldova, only 19 are suitable for swimming.
