Romania always supports Moldova, especially in difficult periods. This was stated by Romanian Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu during her speech at a meeting with Moldovan diplomats. The relations between the two countries are considered a key priority of Romania’s foreign policy, noting the special importance of the ties at the cultural, historical and spiritual levels.
Odobescu emphasized that in the current difficult times, amid military events on the borders and consequences in different fields, Romania remains a supportive party for Moldova. She expressed the wish to see Moldova as a sovereign, territorially integrated and strong state, a member of the European Union. Odobescu emphasized the importance of the interrelation between the Romanian Foreign Ministry and the Moldovan Foreign and European Integration Ministry.
The minister also emphasized the dynamic sectoral cooperation, focused on practical results for the benefit of citizens. She expressed the need to develop new energy ties, to expand the transport and border infrastructure, as well as to improve bilateral trade.
Odobescu said that through the European Moldova Assembly, Moldova has shown its aspiration for a future in the European Union. She stressed Moldova’s efforts to strengthen energy independence and defense, as well as the support of the European Union and NATO.
At the end, the minister emphasized that Moldova has a loyal friend at the Romanian Foreign Ministry, to whom one can always turn.
