Chisinau is introducing a new parking system that will divide the city into three zones. Here’s how it will work:
1. Zones and rates
– Zone 1: The central part of the city, where parking will be the most expensive. Rate: 20 lei per hour. There will be a progressive tariff: 15 lei for the first hour, 20 lei for the second and 25 lei for the third hour.
– Zone 2: Main streets of the city. Rate: 15 lei per hour.
– Zone 3: Other streets. Rate: 10 lei per hour.
Parking will be charged from 08:00 to 18:00. Parking will be free in the evenings, weekends and public holidays.
2. Subscriptions
For convenience, passes will be offered for different time periods:
– Zone 1:
– 7 days – 560 lei
– 30 days – 2400 lei
– 90 days – 7200 lei
– 180 days – 14400 lei
– 365 days – 28800 lei
– Zone 2:
– 7 days – 420 lei
– 30 days – 1800 lei
– 90 days – 5400 lei
– 180 days – 10800 lei
– 365 days – 21600 lei
– Zone 3:
– 7 days – 280 lei
– 30 days – 1200 lei
– 90 days – 3600 lei
– 180 days – 7200 lei
– 365 days – 14400 lei
Zone 1 passes allow you to park in zones 2 and 3. The zone 2 pass is valid in zone 3 and the zone 3 pass – only in zone 3.
3. More information
The city administration intends to introduce controls and fines for improper use of parking lots. Solutions will also be developed for commercial establishments to meet their needs.
This parking system is based on the experience of other cities such as Bucharest, Cluj and Brasov.
