In his weekly program, economist Veaceslav Ionita analyzed the dynamics of the real estate market in Moldova. According to the statistics provided, the volume of new housing in the country has fluctuated in recent years, starting from 2003. After peaking in 2021, there was a collapse in 2022, but there was a recovery in 2023.
Ionita noted that since 2015, the amount of new housing in Moldova has been subject to changes, either increasing or decreasing. He provided data on investments in new housing from 2001 to 2023, emphasizing their significant volume.
The economist believes that the crisis in the real estate market provides an opportunity for its civilization. He outlined the problems related to the lack of infrastructure in new residential neighborhoods and the over-regulation of construction, which has led to a blockage in the market. However, Ionitsa sees new perspectives in the current situation, such as the transition to the development of neighborhoods, which can contribute to development.
