President Maia Sandu addressed citizens who voted for Renato Usatîi in the first round of the elections, thanking them for their participation. In a video posted on Facebook, she emphasized how vote theft affected the elections, noting that without these falsifications, Usatîi could have become her opponent.
She said: “Thank you for your vote and for your trust in the process. Unfortunately, vote theft has affected all of us. If the votes had not been stolen, today, perhaps my opponent would have been Renato Usatîi.
I know you are dissatisfied. But let’s unite our efforts to prevent the corrupt regime from returning to power. Your votes must be heard, and the fate of the country must be decided by Moldovans, not by money.”
It is worth mentioning that Renato Usatîi secured third place in the first round and refused to support anyone in the second round.
