Moldovan carriers announced a protest action with the suspension of flights from 27 to 29 February. They demand changes in legislation regarding routes to countries with liberalised transport regimes, as well as an exemption from the obligation to use only bus stations as end points. The carriers emphasise that their aim is not to preserve the old rules, but to ensure the future development of the industry. In response, the Minister of Infrastructure expressed fears of possible negative consequences for citizens, while noting that the carriers’ demands are not clear. The APOTA Chairman considers the Minister’s statements a threat and argues that every citizen has the right to choose the form of protest. The initiative to amend the legislation was adopted by Parliament and will enter into force on 1 March.
