Renato Usatii offered Maia Sandu a deal: he is ready to actively promote the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the EU if she refuses to run for president. In an interview with Radar Politic, he emphasized that this referendum should be held at national and international levels, but only on the condition that Sandu does not run for president. Usatii urged Sandu to prove that European integration is more important to her than her political career.
Earlier, Usatii suggested organizing a referendum on European integration in parallel with the presidential election in order to provide Sandu with an opportunity to get another presidential mandate.
